VTV.vn - On February 12th, 5 houses in Tien Thanh Commune, Phan Thiet City, in Binh Thuan province have collapsed due to erosion caused by high tides.

Immediately after the disaster, the local government has been supporting those affected and have placed them in temporary housing.

Initial damage is estimated at over 25 thousand USD. At the affected area, nearly 200 households are at risk. Dwellers have been moved to make shift resettlement sites. Out of the 116 households that have signed up for resettlement, only 10 have been moved to the safe area. The rest have remained in the at-risk area due to not being able to commit to their financial obligations and fund their new homes. Currently the local government is trying to extend their support to those affected./.
