Labour flows in ASEAN

There are currently 8 mutual recognition agreements corresponding to eight professions which are doctors, dentists, nurses, engineers, architects, accountants, surveyors and the tourism industry.

According to a report by the International Labour Organization, there were nearly 6.8 million ASEAN migrants within the region in 2013 compared to 1.5 million in 1990. It is estimated that the AEC will generate 14 to 15 million additional jobs by 2025.
