Korean families separated by war to have rare reunion
VTV.vn - Buses carrying South Korean family members on Monday crossed the border with North Korea to meet family members they had not seen since the 1950-53 Korean War.

Some 180 families will be temporarily reunited in North Korea starting Monday after the two countries renewed exchanges this year. The reunions, the first in three years, will take place in North Korea's tourist resort on Mount Kumgang, as agreed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in during their first summit in April.

Six doctors and nearly a dozen nurses will attend to the elderly group during the reunion and a makeshift emergency medical centre will be on duty around the clock. The two countries will hold the second round of reunion meetings from Friday to Sunday.
