Produced by the Department of Culture and Entertainment of Vietnam Television, King of Vietnamese will air its 17th episode of Season 4 on July 4 on VTV3. This episode continues the fourth season, one that marks a major format shift: each episode will now crown only one winner, who will walk away with the prestigious King of Vietnamese ring and a hefty cash reward.
Unlike previous seasons, Season 4 of King of Vietnamese features a more competitive format. There are no second chances or “comeback” rounds. Only one contestant is honored in each episode. The winner receives the symbolic King of Vietnamese ring, which celebrates intellect and love for the Vietnamese language, alongside a cash prize worth up to 320 million VND. This revamped format has quickly gained traction among language lovers, particularly as the challenges become more complex, multidimensional, and culturally significant.
A familiar face since the show’s inception, People’s Artist Xuan Bac returns as host. With his witty, flexible, and intelligent style, he not only brings energy to each segment but also inspires viewers with his passion for and pride in the Vietnamese language. His presence remains a key factor behind the show’s ongoing popularity.
The theme of Episode 17 is “Xe” (Vehicle)—a seemingly simple word that unfolds into a world of nuanced meanings. Questions range from everyday modes of transport to archaic terminology, slang, and literary metaphors, each requires players to demonstrate linguistic agility, quick reflexes, and a deep appreciation of Vietnamese to succeed.
King of Vietnamese is more than a brainy game show; it’s a cultural journey. It invites audiences to explore the richness, flexibility, and elegance of the Vietnamese language—a language that embodies the spirit of a nation. Each episode is a narrative woven from letters and words, heritage and pride.
Episode 17 of King of Vietnamese airs at 9:00 PM on July 4 on VTV3. Don’t miss it!
