On February 24, the Chief of Office of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Dang Vu Bang announced that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued Report No. 14/TTr-UBND, proposing the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Ministry of Transport, considers and approves the proposal of the Ha Tien-Rach Gia expressway construction investment project.
The new expressway will have a total length of 86.65km and will be 24.75m in width, with four lanes.
The project construction site is Ha Tien city, Kien Luong district, Hon Dat district, Chau Thanh district and Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province.

The project implementation period is expected to run from 2023 to 2027.
According to the People's Committee of Kien Giang province, the completion of the Ha Tien-Rach Gia expressway will contribute to connecting with the main highways in the Mekong Delta region and ensure security and defence in the southwest of the country.
