The sea cable car route, with a length of nearly 8 kilometres, has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest cable car system in the world. The construction was initiated in September 2015, and officially came into operation after 28 months to serve tourists at Pearl Island in Phú Quốc.
The system has 70 cars that can carry 30 passengers each and uses the three-rope cable car technology that is the most modern and safest in the world.
Thanks to the cable cars, travelling from An Thới to Hòn Thơm takes just 15 minutes, half the time of travelling by canoe.
