The event drew the participation of 119 children delegates representing more than 385,000 of their friends in the province.

Speaking at the forum, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Luu Trung said that over the past years, along with promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political stability and social order and safety, local Party Committees, authorities, families, schools and society have strived to create favourable conditions for children to be cared for, study and enjoy a healthy, safe and friendly environment. Due attention has been paid to children with difficult circumstances, helping fully realise children's rights, especially the one to take part in children's affairs, he said.

Through the forum, children can contribute ideas and voice their aspirations on issues related to them, the official said, adding that provincial leaders will continue to direct agencies to do more favourable for the children in the coming time.
