The festival brings together the six best Khen teams including 60 artists in the northwestern region. The panpipe is a musical instrument played by ethnic minority people in northern mountainous provinces like Lao Cai and Ha Giang.
In the Khen contest, the Dien Bien province Khen team received first prize. Another spring festival called Open the Heaven Gate Fansipan 2019 is being held and will last until March 8th. The events helped popularise northwestern culture with many traditional folk games.
