VTV.vn - Student dropout is a common issue in the remote areas. However, with the efforts of teachers and local authorities, the number of students attending school in several highland districts in Khanh Hoa province is so far looking up.

The new school year has yet to begin. However, more than 350 students at Nguyen Thai Binh secondary school have gathered in full numbers. In a mountainous district like Khanh Vinh, where the majority of residents live in ethnic communities, it’s not always easy getting students to school.

Over the past 2 years, the rate of students going to school following the summer holiday has largely maintained 90 percent in the region. In preparation for the new school year, Khanh Hoa province has spent over 2 million USD for upgrading facilities, especially in the mountainous areas.

This year, Khanh Hoa province will also apply a new school model, focusing on organizing more training courses for teachers at schools throughout the province.

Thorough preparation of school equipment and facilities has encouraged both teachers and students for the new school year. This is also an important base for Khanh Hoa province in meeting its education target for the 2015-2016 period.
