Launch of the Hanoi Documentary Week on VTVgo

One of the highlights of the programs celebrating the 70th anniversary is their diversity. Alongside news reports on the 7 PM News, Good Morning, and 24-hour Motion, VTV collaborated with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications to prepare the "Hanoi Documentary Week on VTVgo". The production team spent a significant amount of time selecting 20 outstanding documentaries produced by Vietnam Television, the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, the Hanoi Cinema Association, and independent filmmaker Jean-Noel Poirier (former French Ambassador) for screening on the VTVgo platform. Additionally, three selected films were screened directly at Studio S7 from October 4 to October 6, 2024, with interactive sessions with the film crews. A comprehensive communication strategy was also implemented to maximize audience engagement through TV broadcasts, digital platforms, and the online newspaper VTV.vn.

In honor of this historical October, Vietnam Television also produced three new documentaries: "Our House" (3 episodes), "Where Peace Begins", and "Dr. Tran Duy Hung - A Hanoi Persona". All three films were broadcast on promotional channels and participated in the "Hanoi Documentary Week on VTVgo".

To tell Hanoi's rich history in a creative way, the artistic interaction programs offer unique perspectives. The special current affairs art program "Hanoi - The Epic of the Streets" takes viewers back to glorious historical milestones. Behind the radiant flags on the day of the takeover are the 80 days of careful preparation by the city's people. Behind those 80 days of preparation, there were nine years of nine-year protracted resistance, culminating in the   illustrious victory at Dien Bien Phu. Behind the nine-year resistance was a great national aspiration: a nationwide uprising to seize power. The aspiration for independence and freedom of the nation converged in Hanoi, making October 10 a day of glory.

The guests share their deep love and contributions to making Hanoi more beautiful and worthy of its status as the convergence point of Vietnam's culture and tradition.

From filmmakers' perspectives, viewers will follow two works on VTV. The film "Peach Blossoms, Pho, and Piano" is set during the fierce war in the capital's streets in late 1946 and early 1947. Despite the atmosphere filled with bombs and bullets, those who remained in the city kept their optimism, and love for life, people, and beauty.
