VTV.vn - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide Hue Central Hospital with medical equipment and training courses for the use and management of equipment worth total around JPY200 million.

The assistance comes from the technical cooperation project on “enhancing the capacity of the Hue Central Hospital in response to Acute Respiratory Infections COVID-19”, announced on September 1.

Under the project, which began in August and is being carried out over eight months, the medical equipment will be installed at the Hue Central Hospital’s Base 3 where severe COVID-19 patients are being treated.

The expected equipment consists of ECMO machines, ventilators, monitors, ambulances and dedicated deep freezers to preserve vaccines.

According to Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, the project will make a sustainable impact on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, especially treatment for COVID-19 patients.

In addition, training courses related to the management of remote medical devices will be held.

Through its support for Hue Central Hospital, the JICA expects to make significant contributions to improving the response capacity to the pandemic in central provinces.

Earlier in March, JICA gave assistance consisting of essential medical supplies to Hue Central Hospital.
