The low-cost airline had officially launched the direct route between Taipei and Da Nang earlier that day.
The carrier will operate three two-way flights per week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Airbus A320 planes.
BL162 flights will depart Da Nang at 11am and arrive in Taipei at 1:35pm; meanwhile, the return flights (BL163) will take off at 3:40pm (local time) and arrive in Da Nang at 6:15pm.
This is the first time a low-cost airline has opened a route connecting Taipei with central Vietnam, meeting high demand and contributing to stimulating the growth of tourism between the two regions.
Taipei and Da Nang have been favourite travel destinations in recent years. In the first nine months of 2016, some 382,000 Taiwanese visited Vietnam—a year-on-year increase of 16%.
Da Nang is expected to welcome nearly 1.67 million international tourists in 2016, up 31.6% over the same period last year.
It is estimated that the Da Nang–Taipei air route will serve more than 51,000 passengers each year.
On the occasion of the opening of the route, Jetstar Pacific is offering 11,000 promotional tickets, starting at VND11,000, for sixteen domestic routes. The programme is open to online passengers who book tickets from 11am on December 2 to the end of December 4 at http://onlinefriday.vn/ and www.jetstar.com, as part of the airline’s Online Friday 2016 event.
