This is the first visit of the Kuroshio submarine to Vietnam. The visit is one of the activities marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
It also implements the agreement of the leaders and the Ministry of Defense of the two countries. In accordance with the program, the Japanese training submarine team will meet with the leaders of Khanh Hoa province and Commander 4 of the Vietnamese Navy.
There are also sports and professional exchanges, as well as sightseeing in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. The visit will enhance the understanding and trust between the Vietnamese People's Navy and the Self-Defense Force in the Sea of Japan; Vietnam-Japan bilateral defense cooperation has increasingly deepened, contributing to the maintenance of peace and stability for developmental cooperation in the region.
