VTV.vn - The Museum of Cham Sculpture in the central city of Da Nang on October 20 opened an exhibition titled “The World of Vietnam in Microcosms” by Japanese artist Toba Mika.

On display are paintings depicting Vietnam’s central localities, such as Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An.

Lasting until November 12, the event is the 7th exhibition of Toba Mika in Vietnam.

Graduated from the Kyoto City University of Arts, the Japanese painter has developed a new style of painting by utilising Katazome, a traditional dyeing method of Japan.

Following her first visit to Vietnam in 1994, Toba Mika created a series of large-scale paintings featuring Vietnamese sceneries which are disappearing. She was granted the Vietnamese Government’s cultural testimonial award.
