VTV.vn - A workshop introducing Japan’s advanced waste treatment technology was held at the Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) in Ho Chi Minh City by the SIHUB and Japanese MILAI Group on January 7.

The closed technology is designed so as not to emit carbon dioxide during the process from transportation to disposal of organic waste.

It is able to turn organic waste into electricity and fertilisers depending on people’s demands, with each device holding the capacity to handle between 100kg and 25 tonnes of garbage per day. The technology can be used in sea and island regions, as well as rural and urban areas, saving costs from waste transportation.

A project to launch the technology is backed by Japan’s Ministry of Environment and managed by the country’s Global Environment Centre Foundation, with its effects proven after a five-month test in HCM City’s Thu Duc agricultural product wholesale market.
