VTV.vn - Approximately 67% of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam have expanded their business operations. This is one of the results from a survey organised by The Japan External Trade Organisation or JETRO in Vietnam.

11 thousand Japanese enterprises that have invested in 20 countries and territories were surveyed.

Compared to the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and China, the figure of 67% of Japanese enterprises that have expanded their business operations in Vietnam is considered relatively high. Vietnam also ranks 4th in terms of political and social stability.

In 2015, Japanese companies were worried about the incomplete legal system in Vietnam. In 2016, the cost of labor was an issue. While 75 companies worry about rising salary issues and almost 65% of enterprises find it difficult to locate raw materials for production.

In terms of supporting industries, Vietnam ranks higher than Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Meanwhile, the localisation ratio is at 34%, still relatively low. This is one of the concerns of JETRO.
