Japanese agricultural products eye Vietnamese market
VTV.vn - Agriculture has been a major source of Japanese-Vietnamese business co-operation. Following mango and dragon fruits, many other Vietnamese agro-products have entered Japan. In return, Japan has also actively promoted their product.

Japanese dried persimmon and persimmon vinegar are the two famous specialties from Wakayame Prefecture. These products have been introduced to many Vietnamese retailers during a visit by some Wakayame officials.

Increasing numbers of Japanese businesses are exploring new business opportunities in Vietnam and are seeking partners in the country through business-to-business connectivity conferences.

By the end of 2015, Japan’s Miyagi Prefecture had introduced a food retail stores chain in Vietnam, introducing local specialties to the consumers, including green tea powder, dried mushrooms and vermicelli.

More Japanese businesses are being encouraged to operate in Vietnam in the coming period, according to Japan External Trade Organisation.
