Japan to receive 60,000 nursing helpers
VTV.vn - Japan is expected to receive a maximum of 60,000 foreign nursing helpers in the next 5 years, once the National Diet of Japan passes a revised immigration bill in December.

This bill will overall create new visa statuses to accept workers in sectors deemed seriously short of labour, from construction and farming to nursing care. Two new types of residence status for non-Japanese workers are expected to be created. The first type, valid for up to five years, will go to those with adequate knowledge and experience. The second type will be for those with higher skills.

Currently, Japanese immigration law only accepts a small number of high-quality professionals in fields such as medicine and law. However, Tokyo is under pressure to change its immigration law due to aging population and low birth rates.
