Japan loosens visas for Vietnamese workers
VTV.vn - Only four days after the Japanese Diet passed a bill loosening regulations for foreign workers, the Japanese government said it would sign bilateral labor agreements with eight Asian countries including Vietnam as part of preparations for its new visa policies.

This new five-year visa will be available to expatriates with specialized skills in 14 industries with shortages of personnel such as construction, agriculture, and nursing.

The program also includes China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar. According to the new law, the Japanese government requires companies to pay foreign workers higher or at least equal the minimum wage of the domestic worker. The authorities may check foreign workers' accounts for their wages if disputes happen.
