Japan approves removing South Korea from 'white list' of trade partners
VTV.vn - On Friday, the Japanese government approved at a Cabinet meeting an ordinance revision to remove South Korea from the "white list" of trading partners qualifying for simplified export procedures.

The revised ordinance will be officially announced Wednesday and will be enforced from August 28th. The action is likely to worsen the already deteriorating relationship between Japan and South Korea.

On Wednesday, South Korea's Foreign Ministry summoned Japanese Ambassador to South Korea Yasumasa Nagamine to protest the revision. South Korea also announced it would end a treaty on military intelligence sharing with Tokyo if Japan imposed trade restrictions on South Korea.
