The Japanese side believes that with several free trade agreements set to take effect, SMEs in Vietnam will not be able to compete with big corporations. Therefore HCM City needs specific policies to support SMEs.
The city plans to establish a new fund to support businesses with simplified mechanisms. They will also conduct a survey among 6,000 enterprises operating in support industries to better tailor their policies for these firms.
