Experts at the workshop showed their support for the ruling in favor of the Philippines - China arbitration in The Hague. The workshop also issued a statement which stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea and freedom of maritime and aviation nevigation in accordance with international law.
In the statement, the attendeesstressed the need to improve judicial and foreign affairs co-operation to resolve disputes on the East Sea as well as the role of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and the upcoming Code of Conduct in the East Sea.
