This was its first release after winning the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award at the Toronto International Film Festival last month.
The movie has received positive feedback from both critics and audiences. In the renowned film review magazine Variety, one critic wrote, "Director Ash Mayfair delivers a gorgeously intimate, evocative, and melancholic story of female subjugation in 19th century Vietnam".
