With the rapid development of technology, artificial intelligence (AI) is gradually permeating almost every aspect of life. Essentially, AI refers to a set of strategies and techniques that are intended to make machines more human-like, involving the research and development of computer technologies to create systems capable of learning, understanding, and performing tasks that were previously exclusively performed by humans. AI uses algorithms, machine learning, and deep learning models to process big data and extract valuable information.
In his speech at the ceremony, Deputy General Director Dinh Dac Vinh emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) for the television industry in the digital age and officially launched the initiative "AI Application in Television Operations".

At the event, expert Le Cong Thanh from Information Technology Selection Joint Stock Company - winner of the Vietnam Talent Award in 2016 - shared insights on the advancements and current trends of AI application in the television industry, as well as the challenges media agencies, including Vietnam Television, face as they undergo digital transformation.
Expert Le Cong Thanh shares insights about VTV and the AI revolution.
In the television sector, AI can generate video content automatically, from scriptwriting, production to editing, which helps cut down on production time and costs. Furthermore, AI also assists in analyzing viewer behavior and market trends, enabling broadcasters to collect data on audience preferences to enhance their programming and broadcast strategies. With AI support, television platforms can offer more personalized content based on viewers' habits and preferences. AI can also optimize advertising sales by analyzing data and providing suggestions on the best times and advertising content for specific viewer groups. Additionally, AI can be used to develop interactive content and virtual reality, offering viewers more exciting and engaging experiences.
AI is not only revolutionizing the creation and distribution of television content but also creating new opportunities for interacting with and connecting to the audience, opening up new new avenues for the development of diverse and rich television products. However, applying AI also brings challenges related to ethics, privacy, and creativity in the television industry.
Reporter Le Tuyen – VTV's correspondent in the US, and journalist Nguyen Duc Hoa – Deputy Head of the Arts Department at VTV, also discussed the ways AI technology is being applied worldwide and within VTV's units. As a result,, participants gained a better understanding of what AI can do for VTV reporters and editors, and how to creatively use AI to support their work.
The VTV Youth Union organized the launch event in collaboration with the Vietnam Television Journalists' Association.
Through this launch, VTV’s leadership hopes that each individual and department within VTV will generate practical values in program production and assist Vietnam Television in building a workforce capable of applying advanced technology, in line with broader development trends.
Also at the event, the “Breakthrough AI Ideas for Vietnam Television” competition was announced, aiming to identify and develop creative ideas using artificial intelligence to optimize the operations of Vietnam Television. This is an opportunity for VTV staff to contribute to the digital transformation process, bringing innovation and creativity to the broadcast industry.
