VTV.vn - Doctors of the Cardiovascular Centre of Vietnam's National Children's Hospital have successfully saved the life of a one month old infant who was born with a rare form of cardiovascular disease.

The infant had pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect, and was taken to hospital 3 weeks ago in weak critical condition. The 3.2 kg infant has a fragile cardiovascular structure, and no pulmonary artery, so doctors had to create one. Aa week after the cardiopulmonary bypass, the infant is recovering with an functional pulmonary artery, and will be able to return home soon.
