By the end of May, the figure reached nearly 5.3 million arrivals. The number of domestic visitors was 34.2 million and total turnover of the sector was more than 9.3 billion US dollars.
According to the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2017 of the World Economic Forum, Vietnam ranked 67 among 136 economies, 8 ranks up from 2015.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc tasked the sector to achieve a 30% increase of international tourists in 2017.
