Indonesia's military and police were deployed on Thursday to support relief operations in areas hit by the earthquake and tsunami. The transport system was badly damaged making the relief work even more difficult.
More than 1,400 people died in the tsunami last Friday in Indonesia. About 2,500 were injured and about 100 are still missing.
