VTV.vn - Indonesia has already secured a 130 million AUD (81.4 million USD) commitment from Australia.

Indonesia's Health Ministry is exploring other donor options following the recent closure of USAID by the US government.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said on February 6 that Indonesia had already secured a 130 million AUD (81.4 million USD) commitment from Australia. He noted that efforts will be made to find additional funding sources.

USAID has suspended its pledged assistance of 100 million USD to Indonesia, Budi said, adding that the amount would be redirected to a third party.

In 2023, USAID had allocated approximately 153 million USD for various initiatives in Indonesia, including anti-corruption, climate change mitigation, education, and health projects.

On February 3, the US government announced the suspension of USAID activities globally.
