VTV.vn - The Indian Embassy in Hanoi will host the biggest festival for the Indian community in Vietnam, Diwali 2017, or Festival of Lights, at the Indian Cultural Center in Hanoi City’s Hoan Kiem District at 5 p.m. on October 27.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil, is one of the most sacred festivals for Hindus. The festival will be packed with a series of entertainment activities and a wide variety of Indian dishes and free flow of drinks.

Joining the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to put on traditional Indian costumes, learn about the Henna arts of India, join the lamp lighting ceremony and pose for photos. In addition, party-goers can admire music performances, art shows and explore the delights of India’s culinary culture.

The ancient Hindu festival celebrated in late October every year is a special occasion for those embracing a love for the Indian culture to enhance their understanding on unique spiritual and cultural traits of India and thus contribute to further strengthen the fruitful relationship between Vietnam and India.

Admission is free for the event. Those interested can contact the organizer via phone at 02436332083 or email at culture@indembassy.com.vn.
