The Ministry of Information and Communications has also set itself the task of bringing VTVGo to TV sets to provide people with convenient access to television. In recent times, the Ministry of Information and Communications has worked with major TV manufacturers in Vietnam, accounting for over 95% of the market share, to implement this task.
Specifically, in July 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications held meetings with five major TV manufacturers and proposed that these units integrate the national digital television platform VTVGo on smart TVs produced, imported, and distributed in Vietnam.

"So far, four major TV manufacturers have agreed to the proposal of the Ministry of Information and Communications. Some have pre-installed the VTVGo application on the main interface of their TV screens”, - said Lê Quang Tự Do.
Accordingly, TV manufacturers, including LG, Sony, TCL, and Casper, have agreed to the Ministry of Information and Communications' proposal to pre-install the VTVGo application on their smart TVs to promote the development of the national digital television platform.
In addition, TV manufacturers have also agreed to integrate shortcut keys for VTVGo on their TV remote controls.
"This is much more challenging than pinning the application to the TV interface because setting up shortcut keys involves changes to hardware and design, requiring more stages and, therefore, more time”, said Lê Quang Tự Do.
Some TV manufacturers have agreed to integrate VTVGo shortcut keys into products starting in 2024.
Earlier,, in June 2023, VTVGo officially became the national digital television platform. VTVGo is a product developed by the team of information technology engineers at VTV Digital, , who oversee the entire system and application design. This is also the result of the Vietnam Television's decade-long efforts in digital transformation, investing in synchronized program production infrastructure on digital technology, digitizing content resources, and being ready for the audience shift from traditional TV to the Internet platform.
Currently, VTVGo has been installed and used on 45 million devices, with over 8 million regular users. With such a large user base, the integration of the national digital platform VTVGo on smart TV is expected to contribute to safeguarding national sovereignty in the digital space, competing with cross-border platforms that are difficult to control in terms of content and revenue.
