Illegal ivory trade busted

This is the third such case detected in a month, with a total of 3.5 tonnes of smuggled ivory confiscated.

This is the highest number of cases ever recorded in Vietnamese history. All three cases shared the same method of concealing elephant tusks in imported wood from Africa through Cambodia. This shows signs of a sophisticated cross-border criminal operation and will require international collaboration among law-enforcement agencies.
