Ho Chi Minh City to improve local competitiveness

According to Ho Chi Minh City Secretary Dinh La Thang, budget to improve the city’s science and technology for the development of the city’s social economic development will be increased by 20%. A science committee will also be established to appraise the city’s major projects and give advice.

Also, in the recent meeting with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, several proposals regarding how to attract high quality human resources to the city have been put forward. Main suggestions include inviting overseas Vietnamese to work in Ho Chi Minh City, and developing new mechanisms to improve working conditions for professionals from abroad in the city in the next 5-10 years.
