VTV.vn - Nguyen Viet Phong has been given a reward of 150 million VND (6,400 USD) from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training for winning the gold medal at the 2022 International Chemistry Olympiad.

Phong, a 12th grader from the Le Hong Phong High School for Gifted Students, is among the four Vietnamese students who won the highest prize at the contest, hosted by China.

Speaking at the award ceremony on July 20, Phong shared that his pursuit of chemistry has not been easy and attributed his achievements to the encouragement of his family and friends as well as the assistance of his teachers.

He added that he will make greater efforts in the time ahead to achieve further successes and make contributions to become a good citizen.

Vietnam’s three other gold-winning students are Tran Duc Minh from Ha Nam, Phan Xuan Hanh from Ha Tinh, and Pham Nguyen Minh Tuan from Hanoi.
