VTV.vn - Ho Chi Minh City authorities held a meeting to review the first year of operations of the city's Food Safety Management Board on Monday.

The event heard that many new measures had been effective in food safety management and produced significant results, which were hailed by the city's authorities. Most notably, there were no reported food poisoning cases in the first two months of this year.

However, the Food Safety Management Board also addressed some issues in the coming time including monitoring a food origin tracking model and developing human resources. The board also proposed the application of fines on the spot and bringing criminal charges for food safety violations.
