VTV.vn - According to the newly released Spatial cost of living index (SCOLI), in 2018, Ho Chi Minh City was the most expensive city in Vietnam.

This means that people in the city have to buy goods and pay services at the highest rates in the country. For example, in Hanoi, one has to pay an average of 1 USD and 29 cents for a bowl of noodles, but in Ho Chi Minh City, it is 7 cents higher.

Meanwhile it is 18 cents cheaper in the southern province of Hậu Giang. The prices in Ho Chi Minh city are 1.5% higher compared to Hanoi. The capital city ranks second in terms of expensive cities in Vietnam, followed by Danang. Hậu Giang was last on the list, with living equaling to 90% of Hanoi.
