Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City, the country's current largest COVID-19 hotspot will divide the plan into two periods, from August 15-30 and September 1-9, with specific solutions designed for each period.

The city will continue to apply social distancing measures under the Prime Minister’s Directive 16, at the same time defining “green zones” and “red zones” in order to apply suitable pandemic control measures.

Attention will be paid to minimising fatalities while ensuring the supply of necessities for residents and maintaining safe economic production.

Ho Chi Minh is speeding up vaccination efforts with the highest number of doses injected in a day reaching more than 318,000. The city also proposed the Ministry of Health continue its support in vaccine supplies.

Specifically, distribution by case cluster: community cough and fever screening (2), secondary cough (22).
