The event was held jointly by the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the launch ceremony, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Phan Van Mai stressed that the implementation of measures to bring the epidemic under control by September 15, 2021, as directed in Government Resolution No.86 was extremely challenging for Ho Chi Minh City, but also the aspirationof the people of the city.
Therefore, social distancing will be applied for another month to focus on controlling the sources of infection, bringing the number of infections to the lowest level; as well as bringing the number of new cases in line the treatment capacity of the health system; as well as rapidly reducing the number of fatalities, Mai noted.
In order to achieve that goal, Ho Chi Minh City called on officials, soldiers and people in the city to continue to unite, work together and promote the great role of the people in epidemic prevention and control, he added.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Mai also underscored that the city will make more efforts to ensure the supply of goods and meet people’s daily necessities; while at the same time mobilising funds from the state budget and social resources to timely deploy welfare packages for the poor and the elderly living in difficult circumstances, the self-employed, unemployed and all those in need.
Field hospitals and the treatment system will be expanded and adjusted in a more appropriate and scientific manner, ensuring emergency treatment for seriously ill patients as well as minimising new infections and fatalities, he said, adding that a network of volunteers to take care of and advise F0s at home will be paid more attention to while vaccination rollout will be continued to be accelerated in the coming time.
