VTV.vn - High-school students with COVID-19 who are unable to attend their graduation exams will be allowed graduate without taking them, under new regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).

According to reports, several 12th graders have contracted the disease in the latest outbreak, while the graduation exam is less than two months away, scheduled for July 7 and 8.

The results of the high-school graduation examinations are also used for determining university and college entrance placements.

The MOET said it is working with local authorities on plans to ensure the exam is administered in a serious manner while ensuring the safety of students.

Exam locations will be disinfected and equipped with masks and hand sanitisers while students who are close contacts of COVID-19 patients will take the exam in separate rooms.

The education ministry is also considering administering an additional run of the graduation exam if necessary to ensure the interests of any students unable to sit the tests on the main exam days.

In other news, the MOET has announced a list of 144 students with excellent academic performance eligible for graduation and university entrance without having to take the national exam.

They are students who sat the exams organised to select contestants for the international science Olympiads.
