VTV.vn - A delegation of the Ministry of Health, led by Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen, had a working session with leaders of Vinh Phuc province on February 5, to set out guidelines for the prevention and control against the novel coronavirus (nCoV).

According to a report of the provincial People’s Committee, as of 2pm on February 4, Vinh Phuc reported six cases found positive for nCoV, including four employees at the Nihon Plast Vietnam Company, who had recently returned from training in Wuhan. At present, all family members of these four patients are already in isolated quarantine and have been put under regular monitoring by medical staff. In particular, three people accompanying the aforementioned cases have also been under quarantine for further monitoring at Tam Dao district’s medical centre. Currently they are all in stable health conditions.

In addition to the efforts made to prevent and combat the nCoV epidemic, representatives of Vinh Phuc’s functional sectors and localities also voiced their struggles when undertaking the work, asking for further instructions and assistances, in terms of expertise, techniques, equipment, supplies and disinfectants, from the ministry, to make the disease prevention and control work more scientific and effective.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Health Minister Do Xuan Tuyen said Vinh Phuc currently accommodates many foreign-invested businesses, with 87,000 employees working in the province’s industrial parks alone.

To effectively deal with the nCoV epidemic, Vinh Phuc should undertake the isolation and sterilisation of the concentrated residential areas, particularly hospitals, families and the residential community where there are nCoV-infected patients and those who were or are in contact with the infected people, he said.

On the same day, the Medical Examination and Treatment Department under the Ministry of Health sent a notice to three hospitals which have successfully treated three nCoV patients, including Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City), Thanh Hoa General Hospital (Thanh Hoa province) and Khanh Hoa Hospital of Tropical Diseases (Khanh Hoa province), requesting their coordination in sharing their professional experience in service of treating nCoV patients nationwide.
