Under the draft plan, from July 1, 2027, health insurance would cover nutritional treatment for children with drug-resistant epilepsy, acute malnutrition in children under six, and nutritional treatment for premature or low-birth-weight newborns.
From the 1st of January, 2028, coverage would extend to chronic disease management and selected preventive services. The expansion would be introduced in stages, based on the financial capacity of the health insurance fund.
