VTV.vn - Doctors at the Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital recently provided medical examination for about 700 people of the Vietnamese origin and Khmer people in Cambodia’s Kandal province.

The activity was held with support from the Embassy of Vietnam and the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Cambodia.

Medicines valued at about 5,000 USD sponsored by the hospital were handed over to the patients free of charge, together with aid packages comprising rice and cash raised by the Vietnamese Embassy.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang underlined that the activity was held on the occasion of the 55th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties (June 24, 1967 – 2022).

He wished the local families a safe and joyous Chol Chnam Thmay (New Year) festival, which falls on April 14-16 this year.

Since its operations in 2014, the Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital has arranged numerous charitable activities in the hope of improving quality of public health care.

In the past years, the hospital organised an average of four free health check programmes annually, examining about 300 people each time.

A representative of the hospital said it will hold more charitable activities and blood donation campaigns in the coming time.
