VTV.vn - The authorities of Hồ Chí Minh City this morning held a conference to call for investment in projects that will relocate residents of houses along canals and rivers in the city.

The secretary of Hồ Chí Minh City's municipal Party Committee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân attended the event. According to the plan set for 2016-2020, Hồ Chí Minh City will complete the relocation of more than 20,000 residents who currently live in slums along canals and rivers, and improve the urban setting in the area. The capital needed for the project is estimated at 1.14 billion US dollars. The city's budget can only provide nearly 110 million US dollars, the rest will be mobilised from other sources, including the state budget, ODA and contributions from residents.
