HCMC requires people to 'stay where they are' as community infections rise
VTV.vn - HCMC will tighten its coronavirus restrictions starting August 23, requiring people to "stay where they are" amid persistent Covid-19 threats.

Despite the city's best efforts to contain the virus, community infections on Thursday accounted for over 82% of new cases, a record high, while some areas have seen breaches of social distancing measures.

HCMC has put forward five sets of solutions, with a focus on taking care of F0 cases and treating symptomatic patients with worsening conditions to limit the death rate. Covid-19 tests will continue in high-risk areas as will vaccinations.

The city will continue to supply its citizens with essential goods and support them, especially disadvantaged groups and other vulnerable communities. A plan is being drafted and specific details will be announced before August 23.
