HCMC moves to stabilise year-end prices

VTV.vn - The final months of the year typically see a surge in consumer demand, while fluctuations in input costs and adverse weather conditions put pressure on supply.

In response, businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are taking steps to stabilise the market, particularly for essential goods, and maintain consumer purchasing power.

Manufacturers are reviewing operations, warehousing and delivery routes to cut controllable costs before adjusting prices. Retailers, meanwhile, are accepting lower margins on some products and rolling out price-stabilisation programmes.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, stabilised goods are expected to meet 20 to 42 percent of market demand during the year-end shopping peak.
