HCMC launches campaign for COVID-19 booster shots

On June 14th, the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City said that the health sector has launched a campaign to administer booster shots of the Covid-19 vaccine from now until the end of June 2022 in order to maintain herd immunity against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Mobile vaccination clinics have been deployed to people's homes to give injections for those who have mobility difficulties.

According to the health sector, booster shots are important because antibodies from previous injections have decreased over time and are no longer effective in preventing infection.

In this campaign, the city has more than 1,000 vaccination stations, located at local health stations and medical centers.
