Receiving President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le highlighted the strong development of the Vietnam – Australia relations across various sectors over the past 50 years, which has not only brought positive changes to the two nations but also contributed to peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific.
The sound relations between the two nations have been built on the three pillars of high level of trust, sincere friendship, and common interests, she underscored, adding the Vietnamese people always bear in mind Australia’s support for the country in the development of important infrastructure projects like the North–South 500kV power transmission line and My Thuan and Cao Lanh bridges, as well as its official development assistance that has helped improve the livelihoods of people in disadvantaged areas.
Le went on to say that Ho Chi Minh City wishes to become a pioneering locality contributing to stepping up the Vietnam – Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Lines, for her part, spoke highly of the cooperation results between the Vietnamese southern hub and Australian localities, expressing her hope that they will continue effectively carrying out collaboration in various domains, making contributions to consolidating, and developing the special solidarity between the two countries sustainably.
