The event “Happy Tet 2024” aims to introduce the traditional Tet celebration to the people of Hanoi, diplomats, foreign guests, and tourists from both domestic and international realms. It highlights various tourist destinations, unique cultural values, and heritage from different regions across the country.
The unique combination of traditional and contemporary Tet cultures is vividly portrayed through the experiential activities of "Watching Tet - Eating Tet - Playing Tet" in various regions and meticulously crafted mini scenes: "Homeland Train Journey," "Old Hanoi Space," "Central Vietnam Tet Space," "Southern Vietnam Tet Space," "Colorful Ethnic Tet Space," and "Culinary Promotion Space." These mini scenes include the Long Bien Bridge, Dong Xuan Market, Me Linh Flower Market, and West Lake; booths simulating Phai-style houses, recreating the bustling old streets of Hanoi in the past.
Through the reenactment and decoration of various spaces, the organizers demonstrate creativity aimed at "Spreading the Essence of Vietnamese Culture." This is a place to tell stories about historical traditions for the younger generation, promoting cultural exchange, collaboration, and end-of-year shopping.
Happy Tet 2024 also serves as a destination for promoting and advertising Tet holiday tourism and ancestral homeland visits for overseas Vietnamese and international tourists coming to the capital. The event is a hub for connecting business exchanges between domestic and foreign enterprises investing in Hanoi. It is also a platform for promoting cultural values, heritage, showcasing high-quality products, and displaying consumer goods to serve the people during the Tet holiday.
Most importantly, this is an opportunity for Hanoi to express gratitude to international friends, foreign agencies, embassies, overseas Vietnamese, and international students on the occasion of welcoming the new year and the traditional Tet holiday. Overseas Vietnamese and international students are increasingly becoming an essential resource contributing to the country's development, both in terms of economic resources, knowledge, and as cultural ambassadors representing Vietnam in various countries. They introduce Vietnamese culture, traditions, and people to international friends.
The "Happy Tet 2024" program is taking place from January 24th to January 28th, 2024 (corresponding to the 14th to the 18th day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Cat), and it is an unrestricted access event.
