VTV.vn - An art programme entitled ‘Xuan Truong Sa’ (Spring in Spratly Archipelago) was held in Hanoi, on January 25 to honour the services of the Vietnamese naval force in safeguarding national sovereignty over the country’s seas and islands.

The programme featured songs, dances, and documentaries praising the country’s seas and islands and the life of naval soldiers on Truong Sa.

The event has been held annually since 2003 by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, the Communist Party Online Newspaper, and the Vietnam Naval High Command.

It reaffirms Party, State, and people’s care for and trust in Truong Sa’s soldiers and islanders. The event also raises the younger generation’s awareness of safeguarding national sovereignty over the country’s seas and islands.

Under the programme, billions of Vietnamese dong have been mobilised to construct new houses and present saving books to naval soldiers and their families.

At the event, the organising board handed out 20 gifts for navy officers, soldiers and their relatives who are living in difficult circumstances while performing their duties, as well as the people living on the Spratly Islands.
