Ba Vi became the first district to allow schools to reopen for ninth graders on November 8, followed by another ten districts on November 22 and further seven on November 24.
Students in other grades still attend online classes while nursery schools remain closed.
The COVID-19 situation in these districts and towns are rated either green or yellow, meaning low or medium risk.
Under the education department’s requirements, schools may only open either in the morning or in the afternoon, school meals are not prepared and students must bring their own water.
Teachers who are not fully vaccinated yet can only teach online classes and are not allowed to teach offline classes.
Schools are also required to create response plans in case there are any infections on campus.
If safety conditions are not guaranteed, the authorities of towns and districts should consider suspending offline classes to ensure the absolute safety of students.
According to the Hanoi’s health authorities, children aged 15-17 in the capital city have begun to be inoculated against COVID-19 using the Pfizer vaccine.
