Members of the Haiphong cycling club chose the Ly Thai To Monument as their destination for their biking trip. For many elders, the first day of the New Year was a chance to visit Hoan Kiem Lake and the monuments there.
Many activities are taking place in different areas such as the Imperial Citadel, the West Lake, Thong Nhat Park and big shopping centres in Hanoi.
